The Ministry of Higher Learning has approved the application from KUKTEM (UMP) to offer new programmes in a letter dated March 19th 2002 . One of the programmes approved was Diploma Kejuruteraan Kimia or better known by its acronym DKK. This programme is an offshoot or specialisation of the parent Sarjana Muda Kejuruteraan Kimia (BKC) which started in 2002. The first intake of DKK consists of arround 40 students and enrolled for the 2003/2004 academic session.
This 3-year programme offers the Diploma of Chemical Engineering with 92 total credit hours to be taken and completed. This course is not only developed to provide students with the knowledge of chemical engineering ut also to expose the students to the human science’s area. In enhancing the understanding of chemical engineering principles, experimental activities will be carried out in dedicated chemical engineering laboratories.

Programme Outcomes for the Chemical Engineering programme are attributes expected of the graduates at the time of their graduation. The programme outcomes (POs) are made available in various sources to increase the awareness among the staff and students. It is presented alongside the PEOs. Besides that, lecturers also introduced and explained the POs to students during the first week in every semester.
