The main teaching commitment is in the teaching of undergraduate students in their orthopaedic porting in Year 4 and 5. Other teaching components includes the District Hospital posting in Sibu, pre-clinical musculoskeletal block, nursing programme and the Masters in Public programme. The lecturers are also involved in the supervision of housemen, medical officers and Master of Orthopaedic students at the Sarawak General Hospital.
Research work includes musculoskeletal tumours and clubfoot.
The lecturers provide services at the Sarawak General Hospital and in particular, receive referrals for musculoskeletal tumours, hand, paediatric orthopaedic patients and oncology.
