First & Only in Malaysia
Sunway University is the only institution of higher learning in Malaysia offering the unique BSc (Hons) Biology with Psychology, a programme that prepares students for further studies and a long-term career in the areas of biomedical sciences, medicine, pharmacy and neuroscience. 75% of the programme is taught by the Department of Biological Sciences and 25% of the programme is taught by the Department of Psychology.

State-of-the-Art Facilities
Our students learn in a dynamic, interactive environment using the latest technological teaching tools such as the Smartboard ™ and Multimedia laboratories . Practical classes are conducted in well equipped Biological Science Laboratories. With the new academic block due to be opened in 2014, our life sciences research facilities will expand to specialized laboratories for: Molecular & Cell Biology, Microbiology, Virology & Tissue Culture, and Physiology & Toxicology.

Research Cluster
Our research team consists of members from varied backgrounds including medical microbiology, virology, toxicological sciences, human physiology, genetics, molecular and cell biology, genomic and proteomics, and psychology. Their current research works are funded by both internal and external grants, and ongoing collaborations include those with international universities like Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), Harvard Schools of Medicine, and Public Health (USA), and Yale University School of Medicine (USA).

Industry Exposure & Collaboration
Along with classes and labwork, our students get to collaborate and experience internship opportunities with the Brain Research Institute at Monash University Sunway campus (BRIMS). Also part of the curriculum are exciting educational research trips to renowned laboratories and a final-year research project component which will allow students to translate theoretical knowledge into possible scientific breakthroughs.
