Apart from basic chemical engineering knowledge, this chemical engineering programme is inclined to prepare the students toward specific engineering expertise in energy and natural resources. With such, the students have the options to select preferred elective courses in their final year.
What is Covered in this Programme?
Year 1
Foundation mathematics and general engineering knowledge.
Year 2
Foundation Chemical Engineering courses such as Analytical Chemistry, Transport Process, Instrumentation Process, Separation Process and Particle Technology.
Year 3
Chemical Unit Operation, Chemical Reaction Process, Process Control System, Engineering Ethics, Environmental Engineering, Engineering economics and Occupational Safety and health. During the intersession break, the student will undergo 10 weeks industrial attachment.
Year 4
Energy Resources and Applications, Quality Control and Reliability, Chemical Plant Design, Energy and Environmental Management, Engineering Management, Polymer for Energy Application and Final Year Project. During the final semester, student will have the options to select two electives courses offered such as Biodiesel, Bio-energy, Natural Gas Engineering, Water and Wastewater Treatment Engineering, Processing Technology for Industry and Sustainability in Energy Industry.
