Facilities Management is a multi-disciplinary profession that ensures functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology.
Facilities Management takes into account the impact of the buildings’ use, performance, and support services upon people and the workplace. It ensures that everything is available and operating properly for building occupants to do their work conveniently and efficiently. Concerned with the effective planning, design, management, maintenance and adaptation of building stock, facilities management is a highly regarded profession that responds to the needs of institutions and as such, it contributes hugely to the growth of a nation.
The student’s journey in this course starts with the fundamentals on facility management, followed by a thorough training on every discipline involved in this field. Modules of study are centered on the management of facilities, human resource, finance, safety and security, digital communication, and organisational behaviour. Ultimately, the student will be equipped with a holistic understanding of the basic knowledge and operational skills necessary for the effective management of buildings, their environments, facilities, and support services.
Students with a recognised Diploma in the relevant field will be given credit exemptions based on past results and portfolio review (where applicable).
