Bachelor of Malay Studies with Honours

The Bachelor of Malay Studies with Honours programme is introduced by Open University Malaysia to provide opportunities to individuals who are interested in pursuing their studies and careers in the field of Malay Studies. The programme aims to develop students’ potentials in the aspects of Malay literature, culture, and language. Students will also be exposed to both, theoretical and practical of Malay Studies. They will learn about values in the Malay culture, customs, religion, life style, politics, economy system and social activities up to the modernization process of the Malays today.
Programme Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this program, students should be able to:

• Have comprehensive understanding of Malay Studies.
• Develop the Malay Studies field.
• Practise values in producing creative works.

Entry Requirements

Normal Entry

• Passed: SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu; AND
• Passed: STPM/HSC or equivalent with at least 2 principals (CGPA 2.00); OR
• Passed: a recognized Diploma; OR
• Passed: a recognized Matriculation certficate; OR
• Passed: diploma in related field with CGPA minimum 2.00

Flexible Entry

• Be at least 21 years old on 1st of January(application year); AND
• Passed at least PMR or equivalent; AND
• Possess prior learning experience OR knowledge relevant to the programme applied.
