Overview
The programme aims to provide graduates with high quality education, advanced technical knowledge, communication and marketing skills, in creativity and design innovation, visual expression and communications in art and design.
Graduates with a Bachelor (Hons) in Digital Graphic Design obtain basic skills on fundamental knowledge of principles and elements of art and design and photography.
Successful students will be multi-skilled designers with clear understanding of the relationship between theory and practice and have the opportunity to explore and effectively apply their intellectual competency in the art and design industry by integrating in-depth research, conceptual development, strategic thinking and problem solving in design creation.
Through carefully planned structure of learning, the graduates will have developed their multi- disciplinary skills in expressions of graphic design, photography, advertising principles and practices, branding communications, multimedia, broadcast and film design and animation for further advancement as an innovative practitioner.
The programme aims to emphasize on the effective application of analytical and the creative thinking processes; so as to ensure our graduates will inculcate positive values and attitudes, stressing on ethics and professionalism, possesses leadership quality and ethical teamwork spirit in the diverse cultures of the nation. Ultimately, the programme aims to provide them with an educational experience focussing towards the pursuit of life-long learning.

Core Course Description
AGS 1133 Photography I
Understanding and development of mechanical controls of the 35mm camera (exposure), 35mm (black and white) film processing, darkroom controls, processes related to paper processing, and development of photographic vision, as related to using the camera as a compositional and a conceptual tool, as well as the vocabulary related to photography. Included will be an overview of alternative photographic techniques
AGS 2413 Electronic Print Publishing
This is an in-depth course to the students on how to use Adobe InDesign and the differences from other applications in providing a magazine or desktop publishing. Students are able to handle applications in developing a website using Macromedia Dreamweaver
AGS 2424 Graphic Reproduction
This course provides understanding of all stages of the print production process starting from design process and print process. Learning this program will help student to gain their skill and confidence when sending a job to print.
AGS 2443 Digital Packaging Design
This course provides an in depth study of the elements and principles of package design. Emphasis on aesthetic and technical development, compositional organization, mechanics and the effectiveness of the overall presentation. Students learn how products are effectively packaged in unique and aesthetically pleasing containers. Preparation of digital files for professional printing and third party production will be reviewed. Consideration to the application of typography, graphics and color will also be addressed
AGS 2454 Multimedia Design
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of new media technology through working with various multimedia tools. Students will be introduced to the design and production process of developing interactive Web-base applications. Students will be given an opportunity to learn various tools concentrating on different aspects of the technology; text, graphic, audio, animation and video.
AGS 2553 Art Direction & Storyboarding
This course teaches the understanding and comprehension of managing the artistic and design elements of a project in video & filming. It is also an exposure and knowledge in the cinematography techniques and the digital video production. Students will also gain knowledge through the experiences of being in a team that will enhance their leadership & organizational skill.
AGS 3732 Web Design
To expose students to web design process. Students will be exposed to the process of design and programming of website. The topics will cover from the beginning process until it can be tested and use on the web.
AGS 2564 Digital Media – 3d Animation And Design
This course covers the understanding and comprehension of 3D animation and design to its contribution of 3D animation production, compositing and understanding of the digital media and graphics of 3D animation in video and film production. It will be a course structure to learn about 3D animation production and film production from pre-production, production and postproduction, both live and animated.
AGS 2523 Packaging Reproduction
Operation and maintenance of cross process printing equipment, to include current printing processes for packages such as screen printing, offset, and flexography. Student will study and apply safety and maintenance procedures. This hands-on course will prepare students to interpret the relationships between color and registration techniques for production workflow in packaging production

This course provides a comprehensive study of principal problems faced by advertisers and advertising agencies; policies and procedures used for solutions: evaluation and selection of advertising media; preparation of layout and copy for sound advertising performance

AGS 3716 Major Project 1
Here students will involve themselves in a professional capacity in the implementation of work-related end folio preparation. The preparation of this folio will enable graduates to be placed on par with graduates of relevant others. With diversity, specializing in graphic design, students are able to produce good works and this will ensure their future success. The students are given freedom in choosing the topic or to develop a campaign plan that will be held to meet the requirements of course work.
AGS 3753 Broadcast Media: Content Design & Creation

AGS 3818 Major Project 2
This course will have the students engaged in a professional manner in carrying out the final work for folio preparation. This will also put them on par with other graduates when they are out in the industry. With the diversity of specialization in graphic arts, students are encouraged to produce and show their skills through their work which is based on the specific subjects they are learning and can lead them to compete and succeed in their future work. Students are given the freedom to choose in advance the paper / plan / program to be developed into the final campaign.
AGS 2616 Practical Training
This course provides the introduction and fundamental experiences toward the understanding of design house working culture and value, standard operating procedure (SOPs) and team works in actual working environment.
