Operation of modern industrial facilities requires industries to develop safety plans and containment procedures with a focus on environmental health and employee safety as described by organizations such as the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The management of industrial contaminants that pose major adverse effects to human and health ecosystem and the control of its’ release into the environment is very challenging and requires regulation to cover personal employee safety, emergency planning and hazardous waste spill containment.
The Bachelor of Environmental Health & Industrial Safety degree is a four-year degree program designed to provide an academically comprehensive curriculum to prepare students with the knowledge and competency to become qualified environmental and industrial safety professionals. This program is also recognized by the Public Service Department of Malaysia. Students will be following subjects such as Microbiology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Environmental Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene. They will also undergo placement in the industry or government agencies in the 3rd year of studies.
