The purpose of the engineering undergraduate programmes is to produce engineers who can use scientific knowledge for wealth creation thus leading to better living standard. Hence, engineers should be innovative, creative and highly ethical in inventing and producing necessities for community such as vehicles, bridges, water utilities, communication devices and buildings. These efforts is inline with Vision 2020 which put up challenges to engineers to develop Malaysia as a fully industrial nation with high technology as well as posessing high moral and ethics.
The engineering programmes should lead to holictic and creative thinking. Graduates produced will have better chance to have good career and and to suit with current demands.
The degrees awarded upon completion of any of the above programmes are:
Bachelor of Engineering with Honours
The Faculty adopts the semester system. This system divides an academic session to two equal duration of studies. One semester consists of several weeks of lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, etc., middle semester break and examination. In this system, the students accumulate a number of units in order to obtain the degree in a specified period.
The minimum duration shall be seven (7) semesters and the maximum duration shall be twelve (12) semesters, subject to the existing rule.
