Course Description
This major focuses on the design and development of photonics & opto-electronic devices for the visual, telecommunication, solar and display industries. This highly revolutionary major produces graduates demanded by the advanced electronics industry, and some employers of our graduates include Finisar, Flextronics,
Fujitsu, Hitachi, HSBC, IBM, Intel, National Semiconductor, Panasonic, Sony and TM .
Entry requirements
Local Students
- Either of the following:Pass in Foundation in Engineering,
- Pass in UEC with 5Bs inclusive of Mathematics and Physics Pass in STPM/A-Level or its equivalent with 3 Principals inclusive of Mathematics and Physics,
- Pass in a related Diploma from a recognized institution or its equivalent.
International Students:
Either of the following:
- Pass in Foundation in Engineering, or
- Pass in A Levels or its equivalent with 2 Credits inclusive of Mathematics and Physics, or
- Pass in a related Diploma from a recognised institution or its equivalent.
