The objective of this program is to produce a professional and skilled manpower and have a strong knowledge
in the field of Environmental Engineering. This program is based on Chemical Engineering disciplines.
Environmental Engineering curriculum can be associated with the philosophy of the curriculum developed
from the prevention of waste generation / waste treatment and this program expose students to the
engineering aspects of the system environment as well as a holistic and unique curriculum. This program is
accredited by Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) and Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
The students are trained in a multidisciplinary study involving microbiology, chemistry, ecology apart from engineering principles. Among the sectors that offer employment opportunities are commodity-based industries, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, industrial water treatment, wastewater, solid waste, hazardous waste, industrial processing and manufacturing, research institutions and development and education, the government departments such as the Department of Environment, DID and PWD, statutory bodies such as MARDI, PORIM, SEDC, NIOSH and other organizations as well as around the country and abroad.
The courses offered at UniMAP have been widely acknowledged by external bodies, like the industry, as the first of its kind in Malaysia.
