• To develop educators who posses skills and knowledge to teach different categories of learning needs according to basic functional skills as well as specializing in one area of disability or special needs.

This course examines the characteristics of children with special needs according to various categories. The focus will be on the definition of various disabilities, the etiology of the disabilities, the prevalence, and the developmental profile according to the intra and inter individual differences which include cognitive developmental characteristics, language as well as communication and social adjustment. Focus will also be made on the comparisons of the normal development with the atypical development and also on issues related to diagnosis and ecological assessment suitable for each special need.
