Learning Outcomes

The development of Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (Hons)
Course curriculum is centered around the following nine learning outcomes:

• Demonstrate strong fundamental knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and clinical techniques / therapies;
• Apply knowledge of basic sciences, basic medical and clinical skills of western/ modern medicine in the practice of TCM;
• Apply the knowledge of integrated Traditional and Western Medicine to determine the appropriate investigations and diagnosis;
• Decide on the appropriate therapy / treatment for the patient’s clinical condition;
• Play roles as health professional in the community health care system and preventive medicine;
• Communicate effectively with patients, their family/ caregiver and the community at large;
• Adhere to ethical standards and code of practice relevant to the discipline, be aware of professional and social responsibilities and commitment to them;
• Undertake continuing self-development programme, and participate and contribute to research related to TCM;
• Engage in management and marketing of Chinese medicine and pharmacology
